Responsibilities

'This position is great for a natural leader who has a genuine passion for recruiting, learning programs, interest in organizational development, and desire to help team members grow their careers. Our Recruiting and Talent Development Manager position in Asia will wear multiple hats and work with our employees across Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai and Tokyo. The role requires an energetic and detail-oriented multi-tasker who loves to network and has a genuine passion for helping people.

For recruiting:

  • Organize, manage and oversee our Asia campus and lateral recruiting efforts across our business functions (Research, Sales, Trading, Investor Access) and will coordinate with the recruiting specialist in the US and Europe.
  • Work closely with the Head of Talent, recruiting team, and business leaders to plan and map campus recruiting needs for full-time hiring and internships
  • Produce Asia campus hiring plans, develop and implement strategies to attract robust talent from target schools
  • Develop and manage strategies to attract diverse candidates; identify and implement diverse hiring targets and goals
  • Screen resumes and shortlist candidates for first-round interviews
  • Organize and attending recruitment fairs at local/overseas universities and running final round assessment centers for candidates
  • Connect with students/ candidates personally, become the point person for their Bernstein process and a “trusted advisor” to their career journeys
  • Communicate offer decisions to successful candidates, liaise with the Talent team to prepare offer documentation and coordinate onboarding
  • Manage relationships with universities, including outreach to clubs and affinity groups, event organization such as job fairs, informational sessions, coffee chats, and on-campus interviews
  • Help design, implement and manage intern programs
  • Train and advise our hiring managers and volunteer internal interviewers on how to interview
  • Act as a liaison with headhunters/ agencies for recruitment assignments and to gather market intelligence
  • Help oversee and manage talent onboarding

For talent development:

  • Organize, implement and manage Bernstein Asia programs including L@B (Learning @ Bernstein), Bernstein Spring & Summer School, Bernstein Guest Speaker Series, and Bernstein University (learning programs we offer to our clients). The role will involve design of the program content, scheduling speakers and sessions, working with external providers and communicating the programming
  • Manage and implement Associate programs designed for client readiness: Opposing View, Industry Primer and Sector Scoop programs
  • Organize, manage and deliver regional onboarding programs for new hires from campus and lateral talent
  • Liaise with SG talent team to source relevant development programs and make available to JV staff and manage participation and feedback

The manager will also liaise with the recruiting & talent development managers in the US, Europe, Regional HR Business Partner and our JV partners to implement and manage key talent processes. It will be based in Hong Kong and will report to the Chief Talent Officer for APAC and EMEA, who works closely with the Global Chief of Staff and Head of Talent as well as our European Chief Talent Officer.

Profile required

'We are looking for candidates with the following backgrounds and strengths:

  •  A bachelor's or master's degree with a strong academic record and people-oriented outside interests and activities
  • Individual contributor with extensive experience of managing recruitment processes from start to finish and able to provide a talent sourcing plan at a strategic level is required
  • Organizational development experience and up to date with best practices in hiring, including knowledge of relevant employment regulations are good to have
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication and relationship skills, including the ability to sell, network across broad and diverse groups of students, and make meaningful connections
  • An entrepreneurial personality energized by meeting talent and helping them find their best career paths
  • Natural leadership and outstanding presentation and marketing skills
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication skills; the ability to synthesize information in a succinct and clear manner; natural storyteller
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, passion for learning, and ability to identify and source differentiated content
  • Strong organization skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A proven ability to work independently and take charge, but also strong team orientation
  • Proficiency in excel, PowerPoint, and experience with databases
