Responsibilities

SG Group’s Trade Finance & Services Business Line is settling in the US market and is looking for a Middle Office sales associate to support the origination of trade business transactions, the development of trade solutions to corporate clients, as well as the monitoring of the proper execution of all trade transactions within the local desk.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support of Front-Office in origination and execution of trade transactions.
  • Follow-up on client requests and needs in coordination with the Front-Office.
  • Close co-operation with Back-Office teams and support functions (Compliance, Legal, Risks…) in connection with all operational issues.
  • Responsibility of flow business and administrative tasks in connection with trade transactions: market research, profitability calculations, risk and compliance controls, internal reporting, bank/country limits authorization requests to Head-Office in Paris, etc.
  • Identification of value added to clients by proactively fostering synergies within the bank’s business lines while at the same time reducing the risk to the bank by using a structured approach. 

Governance & Controls

  • Respond to all internal audit inquiries regarding KYC and customer files.
  • Work closely with appropriate department for any regulatory queries. 
  • Perform relevant periodic PSP control for permanent supervision. 

Account Management & Monitoring

  • Prepare memo as needed to process any client related update in our systems and perform final verification of change accuracy in the system.
  • Employees should understand the institution’s approach to risk management and their respective roles in supporting a strong risk culture, as outlined in the SGUS Operations Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Sales & Client Service

  • Coordinate with Relationship Manager and AML/Compliance and/or OFAC Sanctions Team for any BSA or sanctions related cases follow-up.
  • Coordinate account opening process: gather KYC documentation; submit account application; draft account opening form for Account Servicing Group
  • Draft client agreements for new account documentation
  • Maintain client contact list
  • Analyze customer activity variance related to GTB customer independent review and reach out to customer for justification
  • Act as back up to RM while SHE/HE is travelling for business and/or out of the office on vacation to ensure proper follow up on incoming inquiries.
  • Maintain the contact with the various departments of SG (KYC, operations, investigations, Legal.) when the RM is out of office and forward to them any client request.
  • Assist the Relationship Managers to identify and approach US prospects.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.

Profile required

DIVISION DESCRIPTION: 
Global Transaction Banking and Payment Services (GTPS) Americas is composed of three Business Lines: USD Cash Clearing Services, Payment and Cash Management Services and Trade Finance Services. GTPS provides corporate clients, financial institutions, Societe Generale entities and business lines with a wide range of payment products and services such as USD payments, corporate cash management services, check services, foreign exchange conversions and standby letter of guarantees.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have:

  • Understanding of AML and compliance procedures in a bank setting
  • Knowledge of KYC Due Diligence
  • Excellent communication skills and team player attitude
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast pace and deadline focused environment.
  • Knowledge of wire and payment processing strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SG desktop tools or strong aptitude for learning & managing desktop applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally..
  • Ability to share own knowledge in Trade Finance products (schemes, tools, compliance.)
  • Administrative, organizational and time management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of trade products (L/Cs, SBLCs, guarantees, etc.) – minimum 5 years of proven experience..
  • Familiarity with AML/compliance (FircoSoft) and profitability (LoanStudio) tools
  • Ability to spot, understand and solve issues, develop and recommend alternatives or solutions.
  • Knowledge of payment systems

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
