Responsibilities

Primary Objectives:

  • Drive revenue and client value through effective execution and management of daily stock lending and TRS flow trading across Japan and Asia ex-Japan markets.

  • Deliver optimized, value added trading solutions-including corporate action opportunities—to enhance client outcomes.

  • Build, strengthen, and maintain high quality relationships with clients, brokers, and trading counterparts to support franchise growth.

  • Ensure disciplined oversight of trading risk, inventory, and PnL, maintaining alignment with internal controls and market best practices.

  • Support the strategic expansion of our Prime Business through proactive idea generation, entrepreneurship, and sales engagement.

  • Contribute to infrastructure, system, and process enhancements to improve trading efficiency and scalability.

Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Daily Flow Trading: Execute and manage stock lending and total return swaps (TRS) for Japanese and Asia ex-Japan securities.

  • Client & Counterparty Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and trading counterparts.

  • Corporate Action Optimization: Deliver value-added trades that optimize corporate actions for clients.

  • Risk & PnL Oversight: Monitor and manage trading risk and profitability

  • Infrastructure & Projects: Contribute to system/process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Call report/minutes: Write and maintain minutes of internal/external meetings.

  • Responsiveness: Deliver timely and high-quality responses to internal and external requests.

  • Securities Finance Knowledge: Good understanding of products, strategies, and market dynamics.

  • Sales Capability: Ability to pitch and expand Securities Finance business with clients and counterparts.

  • Front-to-Back Process Knowledge: Strong grasp of internal workflows including KYC, legal documentation, account setup, risk limits, settlement, collateral, and billing.

  • Risk Management: Skilled in identifying, hedging, and managing trading risks.
