Senior Analyst, Japanese Financials

The purpose of the role is to provide research coverage for the Autonomous Research franchise of banks in the ASEAN region:

• Research production. Produce research reports detailing industry/company trends and communicating investment conclusions related to banks in the ASEAN region. 

• Financial modelling. Prepare financial models, included detailed estimates, for banks in the ASEAN region. Derive price targets and ratings for covered companies.

• Client service. Make proactive outreach to institutional investor clients, including meetings and phone/video calls to discuss investment conclusions. Assist institutional investor clients by responding to questions regarding ASEAN banks..

Principal Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on Japanese financials, including meetings with subject companies and acquiring detailed understanding of industry and macroeconomic trends.

• Manage our yearly and quarterly earnings estimates for covered companies.

• Publish deep-dive company and industry reports on covered companies.

• Publish short-form research around earnings releases and company news flow.

• Respond to questions on Japanese financials from investor clients, involving in-person meetings and phone/video calls.

• Collaborate with broader Autonomous team, including working closely with US Senior Research Analyst, who will expand her role to write on Japanese macro financial issues.
