Responsibilities

Process / Team Overview

The Static Data Team is responsible for the accurate, timely, and controlled maintenance of reference and master data across enterprise systems. This includes client, account, instrument, counterparty, settlement, and market static data that directly impacts downstream trading, clearing, settlement, risk, and reporting processes. The team plays a critical role in risk mitigation, operational stability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery Excellence & Performance

  • Ensure zero external errors in static data setup and maintenance.
  • Consistently meet or exceed defined service levels:
    • Productivity: >95%
    • Quality: >99% application‑wise
    • Turnaround Time (TAT): As per CSLA / SLA
  • Manage end‑to‑end static data requests in line with documented procedures and approval matrices.
  • Monitor queues, aging, and priorities to ensure timely delivery.

2. Quality & Control Framework

  • Implement and adhere to robust quality controls, including maker‑checker processes.
  • Perform periodic quality reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain complete documentation and audit trails for all static data changes.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required evidence and explanations.

3. Risk Management & Operational Resilience

  • Maintain zero operational risk incidents through strict adherence to controls and escalation protocols.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of BIA (Business Impact Analysis), BCP (Business Continuity Planning), and key operational risk parameters.
  • Actively participate in UATs, and contingency testing as required.
  • Promptly escalate potential risks, data inconsistencies, or control breaches.

4. Continuous Improvement & Process Maturity

  • Understand and apply the continuous improvement framework (Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen as applicable).
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and standardization.
  • Contribute to the team’s process maturity score through best practices, documentation updates, and process enhancements.
  • Support change initiatives, system upgrades, and new onboarding activities.

5. Staffing Flexibility & Business Coverage

  • Demonstrate flexibility to support skeletal staffing models during holidays, peak volumes, or critical periods.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding:
    • Coverage plans
    • Extended support requirements
    • Potential capacity constraints
  • Adapt to evolving business needs, including cross‑regional and time‑zone coverage.

6. Policy, Compliance & Culture

  • Ensure strict adherence to SGGSC / organizational policies and procedures, including:
    • Mandatory trainings and certifications
    • Service culture and conduct standards
    • Flexibility and employment policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • Act as a role model for ethical behavior and service excellence.

7. Stakeholder & Counterpart Engagement

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with:
    • Front‑office, middle‑office, and operations partners
    • Technology, change, and control functions
    • Global counterparts and offshore/onshore teams
  • Provide clear, timely communication on status, risks, dependencies, and improvements.
  • Participate in governance calls, service reviews, and performance discussions.

Profile required

Experience: Candidates with 1–5 years of relevant experience in financial services operations or investment banking are preferred.

Communication & Behavior: The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders. A proactive, ownership‑driven mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment are essential.

Domain Knowledge: The candidate should possess a sound understanding of investment banking operations, with preferable exposure to trade processing, brokerage operations, and settlement lifecycle management across asset classes.

Analytical & Decision‑Making Skills: The role requires strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with the ability to assess exceptions, interpret data, and exercise prudent judgment in query resolution while adhering to established controls and procedures.
