Responsibilities

The Settlement Ancillary Services Intern supports post‑trade processing of securities transactions across both domestic and international markets.

After appropriate training, the intern will develop operational flexibility and contribute to several transversal activities within the DVP Settlement team.

The role requires a strong client‑oriented mindset, with a focus on ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in the services delivered by SGSS S.p.A.

The intern also helps promote and monitor adherence to internal and external rules, guidelines, and best practices, while supporting the team in ensuring proper management of operational risks.  

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Monitor internal platforms and market tools to ensure the accurate and timely settlement of post‑trade transactions

  • Operate effectively in a high‑paced environment, maintaining strong attention to priorities, internal guidelines, and company policies

  • Apply a proactive and analytical approach to identify process breaches and contribute to improvement actions or corrective measures

  • Monitor pending transactions and follow up to ensure their completion within market deadlines

  • Manage settlement issues by coordinating with clients’ Back Office and Middle Office teams

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics or Statistics

  • Preferable previous experience in the financial industry (Securities services, Settlement, Banking)

Language skills:

  • Italian: C2

  • English: B2

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • The knowledge of ICSD and USA/UK markets and related platforms are considered a plus

  • Outlook: advanced

  • SQL: basic

  • Excel: intermediate
