Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Datastage developer with strong expertise in Datastage, SQL and Unix.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently design, develop, and test DataStage components, ensuring alignment with acceptance criteria and software craftsmanship principles.
  • Deliver across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in line with Agile practices.
  • Manage production deployments and provide post‑production support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data pipelines.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with counterparts, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Identify and address recurring production issues and propose improvement actions.
  • Manage and support production batch loads.
  • Perform release validations, ensuring defect‑free deployments.
  • Prepare and maintain metrics, test results, and defect reports.

Profile required

Experience: 5–7 years in Datastage development & support, preferably within the Banking domain.

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • 5–7 years of experience in Datastage development & support.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake SQL, including complex queries and performance tuning.
  • Good understanding of ETL/Data Warehouse concepts, including data validations and reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix commands and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Control-M for scheduling DataStage and Unix jobs.
  • Proficient in SQL, with strong analytical skills to identify data anomalies and provide resolutions.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and active participation in Agile ceremonies.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor, taking ownership of deliverables end-to-end.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) on technical issues and acceptance criteria for business changes in pre-prod and prod environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address business and production requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Good to have: Knowledge of cloud data platforms.
