    • Job Summary:
      We are seeking a highly skilled Sybase Database Specialist with deep expertise in both Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) and Sybase IQ to support our Database Audit requirements and drive performance optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong DBA capabilities, a solid understanding of database security and audit processes, and experience in performance tuning. Exposure to the banking domain is a plus.
    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead and execute database audit activities for Sybase ASE and IQ environments to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Analyze and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource management to enhance system efficiency.
    • Design, develop, and maintain audit trails, logs, and reports for monitoring database activities.
    • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to implement best practices for database security and audit controls.
    • Perform DBA tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, backup and recovery, and capacity planning for Sybase ASE and IQ.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, availability, and security.
    • Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and scripts to support audit and performance requirements.
    • Document audit findings, performance metrics, and remediation plans.
    • Stay current with Sybase ASE and IQ features, patches, and industry best practices.
    • Provide guidance and training to team members on Sybase database audit and performance topics.
    • Engage with business stakeholders, particularly in the banking domain, to understand audit and compliance needs.


      Required Skills and Experience:

    • 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ databases.

    • Strong DBA knowledge including installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
    • Expertise in database audit mechanisms, security policies, and compliance requirements.
    • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and scripts in Sybase environments.
    • Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools specific to Sybase.
    • Good understanding of RDBMS fundamentals and transaction management.
    • Knowledge of database performance tuning techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and resource allocation.
    • Familiarity with banking domain processes, regulatory requirements, and data security standards is highly desirable.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

      Good to Have:

    • Experience with other databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) and cross-platform database audit concepts.

    • Knowledge of database automation and scripting languages (Shell, Python).
    • Exposure to database security frameworks and tools.
    • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
    • Prior experience in financial services or banking projects.


      Educational Qualifications:
      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
