Responsibilities

MSA - L2 Storage

  •  Implementation, and management of EMC and PURE SAN infrastructure, including VMAX, Power Store, Unity, PowerMax.
  • Perform daily operations, provisioning, and troubleshooting of storage systems and SAN fabric (Brocade/Cisco).
  • Support zoning, LUN masking, and replication across various environments (production, UAT, DR).
  • Monitor and ensure optimal performance and availability of storage services with regular health checks.
  • Manage storage provisioning requests for Windows, Linux, AIX, VMware, and database environments.
  • Help implement and monitor data protection and replication strategies using tools like SRDF and SRDF Metro and other replication methods.
  • Collaborate with teams for integration with storage solutions and participate in incident/problem/change management processes.
  • Maintain storage documentation, performance reports, capacity plans, and asset inventory.
  • Work with vendors and support teams for firmware upgrades, patching, and resolving incidents.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and support adherence to service level agreements.
  • Provide input on improving the SAN/NAS infrastructure and assist in managing critical issues.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss project migration and technical requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members and assist in their professional development.
  • Be open to working in a 24x7 environment.

Profile required

    • Experience in the implementation and execution of documented support processes.
    • Basic scripting experience in Python or similar languages for automation.
    • Familiarity with NetApp Cmode/Storage Grid and provisioning/snap mirror replication for CIFS and NFS.
    • Understanding of patch and firmware updates on NetApp clusters.
    • Experience troubleshooting NetApp filers in SAN and NAS environments.
    • Ability to assist in preparing and updating disaster recovery documentation.
    • Basic project management skills to plan and coordinate activities.
    • Exposure to incident management, configuration management, and capacity management.
    • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
    • Familiarity with ticketing tools like Remedy and ServiceNow.
    • Good understanding of ITIL processes and involvement in incident/change/problem management.
    • Strong technical documentation skills.
    • Interest in cloud storage products and vendors is a plus.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
    • Familiarity with EMC VMAX, Power store , Unity, PowerMax, and associated storage tools.
    • Understanding of SAN protocols (FC, iSCSI), zoning, and multipathing concepts.
    • Basic experience with Brocade or Cisco SAN switch configuration and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with VMware storage integration and storage for databases (Oracle, SQL).
    • Good communication and documentation skills.
