Structured Finance Solutions Originator
Responsibilities
Structured Solutions and Mobility Finance (SSM), independently or in collaboration with other business lines, is in charge of providing innovative financing & investment solutions globally to wholesale clients, combining various financial instruments, structured in order to ensure, in a responsible manner, the best legal, regulatory and accounting terms. In line with the ESG commitments of Societe Generale, SSM seeks to use financial innovation as a tool to facilitate positive transformations and accompany its clients on their journey towards a fairer, responsible and sustainable future.
In addition to its transversal role as a financial engineering force across asset classes, SSM has the sectorial responsibility to provide clients with financial advisory & financing solutions in relation to land transportation assets and mobility services worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
- Originate transactions for the SSM perimeter, in co-ordination with other Societe Generale “SG” teams as appropriate
- Structure and execute SSM transactions in accordance with SG and SSM governance and approval process (internal memos, credit application, legal documentation negotiation and review…)
- Acquire knowledge of Structured Solutions and Mobility product offers, conduct market intelligence
- Participate to the development of the SSM franchise (marketing, development of new products) in the whole of APAC
- Manage day to day relationships and coordination with internal parties (e.g. risk, legal, finance, tax, KYC teams, compliance, middle-office) and external ones (e.g. lawyers, auditors, corporate servicers)
- Be responsible for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility
Profile required
Academic Background and Certifications, Experience
- Extensive experience in finance or banking
- Experience in working in the Front Office environment
- Experience working on deals originated beyond Southeast Asia region is a must.
Operational Skills
- Understanding of the structured finance environment in a cross-border environment, ideally with experience beyond the Southeast Asia or APAC region
- Experience in (origination or supporting origination) for non-vanilla financing transactions (being in APAC or elsewhere)
- Capacity to build pitch and memos that are clear, structured, compelling and comprehensive in addressing both clients’ and internal stakeholders’ needs
- Some cross asset structuring background and skills in the context of structured finance transactions (including financial modelling, accounting and/or tax)
- Basic knowledge of (i) accounting, legal and taxation principles, and (ii) financial institutions’ regulatory constraints
Other:
- Project management: have the capability to interact with multiple stakeholders within the bank
- Cultural intelligence: have the capability to interact daily not only within APAC but also the EMEA and the Americas
- Commitment: have the capability to work in a time-constrained and competitive environment
- Open mind: have the capability to be open to innovation and new ideas
- Negotiation skills: have the capability to negotiate the best possible terms for the bank and its stakeholders
- Language: only English is required, speaking other languages is a plus
