Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and modelling of the economics of energy projects in the Asia Pacific regio
  • Supervised contribution to credit applications for major financing transactions
  • Industry research and due diligence in support of current financing mandates
  • Using internal tools to process client take-on procedures, rating and profitability evaluations
  • Support to management for internal monitoring and reporting
  • Impeccable compliance with conduct rules and guidelines
  • Contribution to business development activities of the team 
  • The candidate will be part of a team of 7 professionals based in Singapore, focusing on the energy markets in South-East Asia and South Asia. He/She will work closely with the Hong Kong, Sydney and Mumbai teams, as well as regional teams in South-East Asia. He/She will also work with other areas of the bank such as client coverage, loan syndication, sustainable finance, debt capital markets, credit risk management and market risk management.

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience

  • Currently studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, or an Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrate the capacity to work in a team environment, on collective success

This is a 3-month internship with Societe Generale in Singapore whereby you will work within the Energy Plus team for the period. Department Description

The Natural Resources & Infrastructure Financing Division (“NAT”) harnesses specific sectorial expertise in infrastructure, energy, mining, metals & industries and commodities finance as well as comprehensive knowledge of developed and emerging markets in order to provide clients with financing solutions as well as advisory services. NAT clients include producers, operators, processors, traders, service providers, logistics firms and distributors linked to commodities as well as public and private institutions.

Energy Plus Group (“EPG”) is a key platform under NAT that extends full sectorial coverage to the energy sector worldwide leveraging on its in-depth industry knowledge which is further underpinned by its in-house technical & engineering expertise. It covers Power (Thermal, Renewable, Nuclear and related infrastructure), Oil & Gas (e.g. midstream infrastructure & LNG projects associated with producing fields, Petrochemical, Pipelines and Refining) and new energy transition technologies such as hydrogen, battery energy storage system, carbon capture (& utilization) storage, direct air capture, clean/biofuels and other new areas in the energy sector.

EPG is a global team with teams in APAC, AMER and EMEA functioning as an integrated team to provide our clients with a global reach and expertise.

Provision of financial advisory services is a focus of the team, supported by financing using both the bank’s balance sheet, derivatives and the capital markets. The team also works closely with the M&A team, including joint mandates to offer integrated debt and equity solutions. It is intended to further widen our activity to include private debt and equity placement as well as cooperation with other business units on energy transition projects where these are cross-cutting.
