Responsibilities

Role / Job Summary

·       Handle, manage and oversee PAS architecture topics for the platforms delegated to GSC.

 

Qualification / Certification

·       Bachelors/Master’s degree in computer/Information technology disciplines

·       Good to have TOGAF/Azure/AWS cloud architect certifications.

·       Good to have Database technology certification

 

Key Responsibilities

As Platform Architect here's what we'll be looking for you to bring:

Basic understanding of the following areas:

·       Cloud service offerings (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS services as well as high level product offerings)

·       Exposure to different database technologies

o   Good knowledge in high availability concepts like clustering/replication/switchover/failover etc

o   Good knowledge in database traffic/client connections models

o   Basic knowledge of backup and restoration

o   Basic user authentication methods

·       Infrastructure as Software (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD)

·       Modern and Cloud security practices

·       Architecture risk patters and analysis

·       Modern API platform design

Organizational skills and consulting abilities that:

·       Develop and evolve technology strategy, aligned to and prioritized by business objectives

·       Influence / coach enterprise architecture on modern evolutionary platform architecture principles and practices

·       Develop and communicate measurements of platform progress and business impact

·       Support organizational changes in regard to capability development, restructuring toward product-centric team models, and transitioning to modern agile SDLC practices

·       Communicate technical decisions to non-technical audiences and build consensus around them

·       Articulate the value of foundational technology approaches to business executives (e.g. the pros & cons of microservices architectures in a given context)

·       Own key relationships both up and downstream of the platform teams to ensure delivery.

·       Manage priorities and make decisions in high stakes scenarios.

Profile required

Mandatory Skills / Experience

·       Knowledge and experience of working with multiple database management systems like PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, SQL Server, NoSQL Database, Document DBs and other core database technologies

·       Knowledge and experience of Architecture principles and patterns

·       Experience in designing resilient and high available platforms

·       Designing the APIs

·       Experience in microservices architecture

·       Cloud migrations experience

·       Best practices in cloud migration/transformations

·       Knowledge of resiliency principles

·       Active participation/contribution to Architecture governance
