Technology-Media-Telecom Finance Associate – M/F/D
Responsibilities
Societe Generale Madrid is looking for an Associate to reinforce the local team of Telecom, Media and Technology Finance (TMT). Mission of the TMT Finance team is to structure and provide tailor-made financing debt solutions (i.e. financing advisory, acquisition finance, leveraged buyouts, infrastructure financing, holdco financing, refinancing) to corporate clients, private equity funds and infrastructure funds active in the Telecoms, Media and Technology sectors globally.
TMT Finance is a Financing & Advisory business line within the Global Banking division of Societe Generale CIB. The Group is one of the leading TMT and Telecom Infrastructure financing banks across Europe, and precisely Spain, due to its sectorial expertise and focus.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Marketing/Origination: support the commercial effort through active involvement in market research and contribution to presentations in the context of the identification of market opportunities and advisory to SG clients.
- Financial Modeling: elaboration, alongside other team members, of financial models to support the cash flow analysis that support the design of the several the design of the several financing structures, both in the context of execution of transactions, advisory mandates and commercial presentations/pitches. Review of financial models sent by clients.
- Execution/Structuring: participation in the due diligence process, credit analysis of the transactions in the pipeline and the preparation of credit applications submitted to our credit risk teams and other documents required to obtain credit approvals. Support to other team members involved in the process.
- Collaboration with our distribution teams in the elaboration of the materials (commercial info memos, term sheets, among other) for the syndication and distribution of underwritten financings.
- Ensure data quality in the IT systems of the bank: have command and ownership of internal tools of SG (profitability calculations, internal rating, know your customer process, among other).
Profile required
Studies & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics or Business Administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in Investment Banking
- Proven experience in preparing synthetic and analytical memos/credit applications
Language skills:
- Fluency in English to elaborate all the external and internal documents required
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
- Solid credit and accounting knowledge
- Strong modeling skills for the elaboration of cash flow modeling in the context of different situations (acquisition financing, LBO, infrastructure financing, opco-holdco financings)
- Strong interpersonal skills (good communication skills, interest, curiosity) and ability to work in teams
- Ability to interact and coordinate with other teams in both commercial presentations and execution of transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated work ethic, positive attitude, commitment, professionalism, attention to detail, ability to support execution and marketing efforts in various transactions and situations
- Very good command of Office tools, relevant databases and capacity to get up to speed on the SG internal IT tools
