Responsibilities

The Banker will be part of GTPS Americas Sales Function, in charge of Engineering and Structuring. The person is expected to have experience on the following areas:

  • Corporate and NBFI (Specifically Insurance)
  • Regulatory environment, i.e., Insurance sector regulations in jurisdictions like Bermuda
  • Risk distribution structuring of trade finance cash and non-cash assets-SBLCs
  • Credit analysis is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as expert on the financial assessments of the Corporate and NBFIs (Insurance and Asset Managers / Funds), interact with the departments in charge of credit risk control and monitoring.
  • Build and maintain guidelines.
  • Develop, promote, extend the deal Origination into structuring schemes with Corporate and NBI clients (Insurance and Funds).
  • Define a global origination action plan in coordination with the main stakeholders.
  • Work in coordination with Senior Trade Bankers, Client Coverage bankers, other Structurers, Financial Institutions) to execute this action plan.
  • By leveraging on the existing network of the Bank, originating deals to issue local guarantees, acting as Fronting Bank syndicating the facility and reissuing Bank especially for Insurance companies.
  • Act as Global Structurer for selected sectors, including Insurance. Advise on the design of the structuring proposed by the other Structurers. Review and validate the consistency and quality of the credit applications, advise on credit protections.
  • Adapt solutions to specific geographic corridors depending on collateral eligibility / regulation changes. Promote ESG solutions adapted. Train the Structurers, share best practices notably in terms of legal documentation and structuring.
  • Act as Global Structurer of risk distribution solutions on the full spectrum of Transaction Banking Trade Services clients (Insurers, Corporates, Funds)  
  • Pro-Actively originate risk distribution solutions with both internal & external partners.
  • Advise on the structuring of risk distribution solutions on existing portfolio/exposure and new deals – through a batch of innovative solutions including but not limited to:
    • Comprehensive risk insurance cover from eligible private insurers
    • Risk participation to banks and/or private insurers/investors/funds
    • Securitization with investors (including first loss and/or trenching alternatives)
    • Other solutions (parent guarantees, structured cash collateral solutions)

DIVISION DESCRIPTION: 
Global Transaction Banking and Payment Services (GTPS) Americas is composed of three Business Lines: USD Cash Clearing Services, Payment and Cash Management Services and Trade Finance Services. GTPS provides corporate clients, financial institutions, Societe Generale entities and business lines with a wide range of payment products and services such as USD payments, corporate cash management services, check services, foreign exchange conversions and standby letter of guarantees.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have: 

  • BA or Master’s degree
  • 10+ years experience in Trade Finance, Regional or Global Sales
  • Minimum of 5 years experience structuring with corporate, NBFI and Insurance clients.
  • Proven track record on the structuring and risk distribution experience in corporate and NBFI segment including Insurance companies and risk distribution experience with cash and non-cash assets in Trade Finance.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
