Trader Support Unit Bonds- Analyst
Responsibilities
The aim of Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBSU differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.
Within the Trade Support Unit department, of Operations direction, the service Trade Capture (Transaction Modeling) oversees booking transactions in the information systems under delegation of the Front Office
Within Société Générale, you will join the pole Global Banking & Investors Solutions (GBIS), in charge of activities of financing and investment banking, private banking, asset management and securities.
Our teams are responsible for controlling trading activities across multiple trading desks across Fixed income, Rates, Treasury and Credit Bonds.
In this context, and in close relationship with the Front Office and all Support functions (Middle-Office, Back-Office, Risk Department, Finance Department, Market Activity Indicators Department, Information Systems Department…), you will oversee the following missions:
Deal Capture:
Ensure prompt, accurate trade booking
Affirm and allocate trading activity
Handle bond deals allocation
Manage trade input/modifications/cancellations
Monitor DWAC/Corporate Action and booking
Maintain process consistency globally
Operational Responsibilities:
Resolve Front Office vs. Back Office Trade Breaks
Maintain procedure manuals
Respond to Audit and Inspection team requests
Maintain static data accurately
Assist in new client sub-account openings
Liaise between departments globally
Test system upgrades/enhancements
Provide ad hoc assistance
Monitor STP processes
Perform trade maintenance tasks
Confirm trades and assist with onboarding
Perform TRACE reporting to FINRA
Investigate and resolve fails, DKs, and breaks
Process Novation requests through electronic platforms
Profile required
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
Must Have:
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting a Credit or Treasury trading desk
- Experience supporting a Treasury Bond trading desk and Interest Rate Derivatives
- Product exposure should include thorough understanding of US Treasuries and Agencies, Corporate Bonds, Asset Backed Securities
- Knowledge of FED, DTC and Euroclear, GSCC/FICC netting and CTM
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics
Required Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and partnering skills
- Ability to handle various ad-hoc requests in a dynamic environment
- Prone to take initiatives. Proactive and detail oriented.
Desired/Plus:
- Knowledge of U.S. Government securities, Corporate Bonds, CDS, Agencies, TIPS and Repos
Languages: French, English
