Trading Business Manager - Analyst
Responsibilities
Main responsibility consists of minimizing Operational Risk related to e-trading (including algos). ETOs perform the following:
- Assist MARK in supervisory Processes a.k.a. Controls (Checks, Reviews, Attendance of committees, Audits & Inspections) including the definition of action plans to resolve weaknesses observed.
- Monitor + review on an ongoing basis MARK Processes generating Operational Risk in relation to electronic trading.
- Monitor + review on an ongoing basis Staff, Assets and Suppliers involved in these Processes.
- Define and implement controls to reduce and preferably avoid the e-trading related Operational risk e.g., pre- and post-trade controls as well as various onboarding and oversight committees globally, regionally and locally.
- Identify improvements in the above and if necessary, launch studies/investigations to assess validity of such improvements considering Risk reduction but also cost and efficiency
- Document the above
- Define, prioritize, fund e.g., request CTB and complete Projects to realize above improvements and action plans, each managed as projects.
- Report + escalate timely to Management (functional and hierarchical).
- Cooperate efficiently with Partners i.e., the SUs (predominantly RISQ, CPLE, and GBTO) as well as the ETO team globally whilst performing the above.
- Adhere to SG Code of Conduct and Trading Handbooks whilst conducting all the above.
Profile required
In order to fulfill the above Responsibilities, the following Skills are required on at least a VP level:
- Understanding of trading on exchanges and the business models that require e-trading (bonus: knowing SG EQD and FIC business models)
NB: this includes algo trading, manual trading, agency trading vs principal trading, market feed vs order passing, etc. - Appreciation of regulatory risk in relation to trading activities (bonus: experience with e-trading regulations on at least one exchange)
- Understanding + experience in ITC (bonus: development experience, e-trading infrastructure)
- Understanding + experience in project management (ITC or other) (bonus: experience being part of and running projects)
- Good multi-tasking skills
- Good organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Good analytical skills incl attention to detail
- Good critical thinking skills incl thinking out of the box

Department Description
Business Unit (“BU”) Global Markets (“MARK”) provides financial services to investors (“Clients”). Within MARK there are Business Lines of which Equity and Equity Derivatives (“EQD”) provides equity product linked services to Clients and Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) does the same for FX, Rates and similar products. EQD and FIC are supported and/or supervised by Service Units (“SU”): GBTO + GCOO + SEGL + COMM + DFIN (combined “LOD1”), CPLE + RISQ (combined “LOD2”) and IGAD (“LOD3”).
