Department Description
Within the Investment Banking Division of Société Générale, Advisory & Financing Group serves Corporates (mid to large caps), Sponsors (PEs, Infrastructure funds), Family offices, Financial Institutions, across sectors, geographies and rating spectrum.

This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
Missions
Contribute to provide integrated debt structuring / capital structure / rating advisory / acquisition & strategic finance / market access solutions to key clients of the Bank, in close connection with coverage and corporate finance teams
Contribute to originate and execute strategic & acquisition finance and/or rating advisory mandates on all aspects (marketing materials, credit process incl. ESG analysis, legal doc negotiation), in accordance with SG and AFG policies and guidelines
Produce reliable modelling materials, client pitches and analysis documents supporting internal credit processes
Be abreast of key market trends, including economic/regulatory developments, dynamics of different industries as well as new rating methodologies, incl. ESG related topics
In line with the Group's ambition, integrate GLBA's ESG strategy in (i) origination strategy by focusing on advisory and/or origination of transactions related to energy transition and other ESG key topics (e.g. nature, circular economy, adaptation) in line with client's key ESG challenges and (ii) the day-to-day management of business and client relationship management.
Culture & Conduct:
Demonstrate the adequate appropriation and continuous improvement on Culture & Conduct issues by (i) adhering to GLBA and compliance policies and procedures, and when interacting with external partners/vendors, customers, and colleagues and (ii) by identifying conduct risks and incidents and systematically processing their root causes, so as to prevent them in the future
Ensure that deadlines are met (incl. for mandatory trainings, controls performance and IGAD or regulatory recommendations) and that mandatory tasks are of high quality
Contribute to improving the data quality and ensure exhaustiveness, accuracy and prompt update of data produced or owned on your perimeter
Profile required
Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Finance, Business is a minimum
Good skills in debt and rating advisory and in corporate finance
Good skills in the structuring of event-driven financing (acquisition, spin-off, IPO,…)
Good skills in credit risk assessment and rating agencies methodologies and sector views
Good proficiency in financial modelling
Demonstrate rigor, adaptability and openness
Good soft skills
Innovative, driven by positive digital mindset
Able to communicate effecitly in English language
