Trainee – 12 months’ contract – Risk Management
Responsibilities
Primary Objectives:
The trainee provide support to the Chief Risk Officer in the areas of risk and maintains adequate internal controls over credit & counterparty, market, liquidity and operational risk; and the preparation of the Enterprise Risk Committee Meeting
The trainee is responsible for production and monitoring of market and credit risk exposure and exceptions
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Risk Officer
- Support the monitoring and tracking of credit, counterparty, and market risks by performing regular checks to ensure compliance with established credit and market risk policies.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly Enterprise Risk Committee materials for the Singapore Branch and SG Securities Singapore, including providing insightful commentary and analysis on key data trends from dashboards.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with regional and local teams on relevant risk-related matters.
- Support the annual review of Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
- Assist in conducting gap analyses to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and updates on an ad hoc basis.
- Contribute to the review and enhancement of business processes and internal controls, including identifying improvement opportunities as needed.
Profile required
Academic Background and Certifications, Experience
- Degree or diploma in Banking, Risk management, accounting, business administration or the equivalent in finance
- Internships in banking/auditing or financial consulting experience is preferred
Operational Skills
- Driven personality
- Comfortable with numbers and has strong attention to details
- Good communication and the following computer-related skills: e.g. Excel Marco, MS Access, Visio basics Analysis (“VBA”), Python, Power BI
- Able to read between the lines and not take the data for granted
- Strong organization skills
