TRAINEE: Business Communications, Asia Pacific
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Based in Hong Kong, supervised by the business communications leads for Asia Pacific and working in coordination with the local communications teams plus the French headquarters, the main missions of the trainee are:
- Activating and managing 360-communication plans to promote business expertise and achievements
- Supporting the senior representatives and experts in business lines (Global Banking and Advisory, Global Transaction and Payment Services, Global Markets), such as media & social media spokespeople, marketing teams
- Working in close collaboration with the global business communications teams and media relations team when relevant, to ensure consistency with global strategy
Primary Responsibilities
Planning
- Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic communications approach to communicate business and sustainable finance expertise, from strategic planning to delivery
- Support 360 communications, coordinate with external consultancies and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution where appropriate
- Coordinate with regional, local and global teams, contribute to weekly updates and take part in brainstorms and strategy discussions
Content creation
- Conduct desktop research and use a broad range of in-house resources to build opinions and ideas
- Facilitate content compilation for all communications materials
- Assist in business content amplification, including drafting and crafting of social media posts and articles for internal and external stakeholders, and follow up as appropriate
- Contribute to regular communications materials, working with regional colleagues to gather multimedia content and edit text as needed
Media relations
- News clippings
- Maintain and update our record, including but not limited to spokesperson list, media log, media list
Support of awards-related activities
Administrative supports
- Handle relevant reporting, such as performance analysis and regular communications metrics, sourcing, and administrative work
Department Description:
The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific ensures:
- The definition and implementation of the communication strategy, in line with the company’s identity and objectives in the region, as well as with the directions and organization given by Societe Generale group’s Communication division
- The support of the wholesale banking strategy and expertise, principally in Corporate & Investment banking (Global Banking and Advisory, Global Transaction and Payment Services, Global Markets), with Corporate & Social Responsibility and Innovation as key enablers
- The promotion of Societe Generale’s brand positioning, its purpose, missions and values, to its internal and external stakeholders
The department consists of a team split across following locations: Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. Structured around communication leads to support key areas of focus – Corporate identity & commitments / Business strategy & expertise / Data & Innovation / Corporate & Social responsibility – the department encompasses also expertise on the following channels:
- Editorial and digital communications
- Branding and advertising
- Partnerships and citizenship
- Business Communications and Media relations
- Events
Profile required
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration / communications / finance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong writing skills with creative thinking
- Communications experience in the financial services sector and general knowledge of the financial services industry will be an advantage
- Experience in traditional and social media strategy planning and execution in Asia
- Relationship and adaptation skills: a team player with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders at all levels
- Service-driven, dynamic and open-minded: a doer with ability to steer business and support functions towards a common goal
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Trustworthy, with sensitivity to confidential matters, and transparent

This is a fixed term 12-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full-time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
