Department Description

Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS) is designed for domestic and international financial companies and institutions seeking support with transactions (bank, commercial and corporate transactions) and/or payments.
With a presence in over 50 countries, GTPS offers a comprehensive and integrated range of services based on the expertise of Transaction Banking and Payment Services.
In Asia Pacific, GTPS offers Global Transaction Banking services and products in 5 locations. 
The Regional GTPS Business Management Office (BMO) Asia Team ensures the Operational and IT set up is aligned with Business priorities, it also monitors the entity’s Operational Risks Framework and is responsible for organizational and transversal support to GTPS Asia teams.

The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.

Responsibilities:

Project Management and Strategy deployment:

  • Manage GTPS projects and initiatives in Asia Pacific as required by GTPS/COO management
  • Assist GTPS/DIR in deploying new GTPS APAC strategy
  • Represent GTPS Asia in transversal projects
  • Contribute or lead ad hoc studies, in support of our Business Lines’ strategy (e.g. new products/activity set-up, IT/process evolution, change in organization, digital).

Data Management

  •  Produce data management dashboards for activity monitoring (e.g. NBI or cost monitoring)

Operational Risk Monitoring:

  • Assist in dealing with Operational Risk related topics (Annual Risk Assessment, Controls mapping etc.)
  • Produce Operational Risk Committee deck with KPIs covering all GTPS activities in Asia and follow up inputs and deliverables from the relevant stakeholders
  • Amend existing controls or implement the new ones when required by LOD2/LOD3 or global requirements

Compliance, Fraud and KYC related topic:

  • Assist in dealing with Compliance, Fraud and KYC related topics

Audit and Risk recommendations:

  • Provide support for implementation and follow-up of audit/risk recommendations

Meeting/presentation:

  • Assist in preparing quarterly staff meetings and other ad hoc meetings/presentations.

Internal Staff Training: 

  • Organize training for new joiners and on other topics when required e.g. client complaint, incident login, Culture and Conduct

Candidates with outstanding performance will be considered for early conversion to permanent roles.

Profile required

  • Graduate with a Bachelor/master's degree from Business/Engineering School
  • Ideally have past experience in process/business analysis, project management
  • Strong analytical and data management skills 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to details
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office with focus on Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Ability to work in independent way
  • Fluent in English

Compensation & Salary Range:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience and to be determined after the interviews and assessments.
