At Société Générale UK, our Communications team plays a vital role in shaping and promoting our brand, culture, and values across the UK. We support key business areas including Financing & Advisory, Global Markets, Investment Services, and Cash Equities, through strategic communication activities grounded in corporate engagement, media relations, and corporate social responsibility.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Trainee to join our dynamic UK Communication team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Communications within a leading financial institution. You will work closely with experienced professionals to deliver impactful communication initiatives that promote Société Générale’s brand internally and externally.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning and execution of internal and external events, including budget management, supplier liaison, on-site coordination, and post-event analysis

  • Assist our CSR Managers in delivering community and charity-related events, including volunteer coordination

  • Manage ticketing responsibilities for prestigious partnerships such as the Royal Albert Hall and Twickenham rugby events

  • Help organise media events like press parties, roundtables, and briefings

  • Support media relations activities including distribution of research, proofreading communications materials, and maintaining media databases

  • Contribute to internal communications by preparing content for newsletters, intranet, website, and social media channels

  • Collaborate with corporate functions (HR, Compliance, Facilities) to support staff engagement campaigns and internal messaging

Profile required

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest in developing a career in communications within the financial services sector

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills with high attention to detail

  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, capable of juggling multiple projects

  • Confident relationship builder and negotiator

  • Good understanding of communication principles and digital media tools; experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) is a plus

  • Previous events management experience is advantageous

  • A proactive, service-driven team player with a forward-thinking mindset and strong planning skills
