Trainee: COO Assistant
Responsibilities
RISQ/ASI/COO is the team that provides organizational and transversal support to RISQ/ASI, it serves as the primary liaison between the Risk groups and the various support partners. It coordinates cross-entity matters and manage the department resources, ensuring RISQ operating rules are applied and observed promoting a secure and sustainable platform.
In assisting the Regional RISQ Chief Operating Office “RISQ/COO” in his/her missions, you will:
- Assist in managing the operational risk framework, which includes RCSA, third-party management, audit tracking, business continuity and operational incidents etc.. This also involves supervising the Operational Risk Committee and coordinating first-level controls and periodic risk assessments.
- Support regulatory and transversal projects and/or transformation and operational efficiency projects.
- Support the preparation of the budget and tracking it along with projections, working with Finance to manage resources and logistics.
- Manage the internal and external communication for RISQ/ASI, including the organization of quarterly staff meetings and the promotion of shared values to cultivate a strong risk culture.
- Address ad-hoc requests related to key initiatives for senior management.
- Identify process improvement areas and ideate enhancement scope. Focus on the ongoing enhancement and automation of deliverables (e.g. risk reporting) to ensure alignment with business needs and organizational changes.

The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Société Générale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.
Profile required
- Hold a relevant Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Risk Management, Engineering, Data Analytics or similar
- Understanding of global market and banking products is a plus.
- Strong Excel knowledge is required; Good programming skills (Python, Java, or C#), API knowledge and version control knowledge (git, github
- Experience in PowerBI data analytics and dashboard visualization implementation is a strong advantage
- Good knowledge about data management (modern database, SQL) & visual analytics is a strong advantage
- Pro-active, swift, analytical, rigorous, able to multi task and work under pressure
- Organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks/deadlines.
- Ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and high demands.
- Open to innovative ideas, creative and hard working.
- Fluent English is mandatory.

Department Description
The RISQ Division in Asia Pacific (RISQ/ASI) is responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring approving, and controlling risks pertaining to the Group’s activities in the Asia Pacific (i.e. conducted by SG’s Asia-Pacific Business Unit - “ASIA BU” or booked in one of the Asia-Pacific entities). RISQ/ASI oversees credit/counterparty, market, liquidity, structural, operational and model risks while compliance and reputational risks are under the supervision of compliance department (CPL). Strategic risk remains under the supervision of the Head of the ASIA BU.
RISQ/ASI comprises seven departments (RMA, CIB, OPE, CTL, ERM, ALM and COO), plus representatives (“local CROs”) in various entities of AsiaPacific.
