TRAINEE: Equity Prime Brokerage

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operational processes related to equity prime brokerage, including trade support, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with front office teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of client transactions.
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies in trade data and client accounts, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and client service delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of new tools and processes to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Engage with clients on ad hoc requests and onboarding workflows
  • Contribute to defining specifications and performing UAT for new information system or booking scheme
  • Document / update procedures relate to sensitive processes and controls
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to understand the broader aspects of equity markets and prime brokerage services.    

Profile required

  • Hold a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology or similar
  • Equity derivative products knowledge is preferred
  • Risk focused: demonstrate operational risk detection and analysis
  • Result oriented: demonstrate strong drive to achieve result while well estimate risk of own actions
  • Client focus: consistently search for ways to improve client service
  • Excellent communication skills: with an ability to use these collaboratively, explain and challenge, as appropriate.
  • Team Player: Make cooperation between colleagues, inside and outside the team, a priority
  • Responsible, proactive and positive mindset
  • Think out of the box; propose new ideas and solutions on identified problems or existing processes
  • Accuracy, swiftness, ability to work under pressure in trading environment
  • Strong and sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge in any programming language is a plus
  • Fluent English is mandatory with daily interaction with a multicultural team

This is a fixed terms 24-month Trainee contract with Société Générale. You will form part of the team on a full-time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.

GBTO deliver Technology and Operations excellence in our day-to-day services to Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients. The Equity Prime Brokerage Middle Office team play a crucial role in supporting our clients and ensuring seamless operations within the equity markets. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality services, managing risk, and optimizing processes to enhance client satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, gaining exposure to various aspects of equity trading and client management.
