Trainee – Fixed Term Contract - Flow Derivatives Strategist
Responsibilities
- Work with trading team to identify market opportunities in FX and Rates markets, communicate actively with sales on ideas for sharing with clients.
- Use of existing back-testing and pricing tools in python to build screens and alerts, identify anomalies.
- Conduct analysis based on embedded carry, trend, scenarios.
- Produce customized strategy graphs and support for trade Idea generation tools in python.
- Generate team’s standardized publications.
- Maintain and proactively assist in the refinement of tools utilized by the desk.
- Manage the desk’s administrative tasks
- Assist in the production of marketing documents & market colour
Profile required
Academic Background and Certifications, Experience:
- Quantitative Degree in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics
- Prior internship experience in Global Macro (buy side) / Markets (sell side), Trading of Rates & FX products will be valued
- Demonstrated proficiency in coding – particularly in Python, VBA
- General awareness and appreciation for global current affairs, macroeconomic and policy environment
- Familiar with products traded (Interest Rate Derivatives products: swaps, futures, options)
- Must be very reliable and pay particular attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly to challenging situations and find innovative solutions
- High standard of written and spoken English is mandatory

Department Description:
Under the responsibility of the Flow Strategy and Solutions team, you will support the team in both, primary objectives as well as administrative tasks. During the period of the Traineeship, you will assist the Strategist in the development of Rates & FX derivatives ideas, the generation of publication reports and the development of new tools to support the business (Excel / Python based). This role will allow you to gain an excellent experience in Market Finance and a valuable knowledge of derivatives product.
