The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

Provide support as and where needed to further the key missions and objectives of the BMO team:

Strategy & Business Development

  • Supports GLBA regional management in the preparation and monitoring of the GLBA business plan and budget in Asia Pacific (materials, analysis, consolidation).
  • Contributes to strategic and operational reviews: prepares packs, KPI views, key messages and follow-ups.
  • Performs ad-hoc analyses and business studies at the request of management / stakeholders (client, country, product, platform, risk topics).
  • Contributes to the NPC process: timelines, documentation readiness checks, stakeholder coordination and action tracking.
  • Contributes to projects impacting GLBA and its support functions (governance, process improvements, automation, data quality).

Business Management & Performance Steering

  • Produces and maintains dashboards / reporting to monitor NBI, costs, headcount, scarce resources, ensuring data consistency and clear commentary.
  • Acts as a day-to-day working interface with support functions to collect inputs, follow up open items and coordinate deliverables.
  • Prepares inputs and minutes/action trackers for regular business and support-function meetings; monitors follow-ups and delivery.
  • Supports country COOs / local stakeholders on topics with a local dimension (reporting, governance cadence, process alignment), escalating as needed.

Operational / Regulatory / Compliance Risk

  • Supports the maintenance and rollout of procedures ensuring business is conducted under a proper framework, including local regulatory requirements (documentation, controls evidence, trackers).
  • Supports interactions with 2nd/3rd line functions by preparing materials, coordinating responses, tracking remediation and evidence.
  • Contributes to Permanent Supervision / controls implementation by maintaining checklists, collecting attestations/evidence and supporting issue remediation follow-up.
  • Contributes to BCP coordination for the perimeter (inputs collection, contact lists, dry-run preparation, action tracking).
  • Supports operational risk monitoring (incidents, operational losses, controls gaps): log maintenance, analysis, action tracking and timely escalation to the relevant owners.

Coverage Support

  • Produces and maintains client support materials for Relationship Managers (briefing notes, client packs, presentations and ad-hoc commercial materials).
  • Supports client franchise initiatives (e.g., targeted campaigns, deposit push, commercial programs) through data preparation, coordination and follow-up.
  • Supports the review and maintenance of the client database in liaison with KYC / relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with norms and segmentation rules (data quality checks, remediation tracking).
  • Coordinates client profitability and performance campaigns through consolidation, quality-checks and delivery tracking.
  • Supports client events coordination and communication budget tracking (planning support, execution logistics, post-event follow-ups).

Profile required

Academic Background and Certifications, Experience

  • Hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business or similar 
  • Understanding of banking products and financial industry 
  • Previous working/internship experience in the financial field is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear and effective oral and writing communication skills
  • A team player that is self-driven, responsive, possesses a positive attitude, resourceful and with the ability to work independently 
  • Flexibility, pro-activity, curiosity and capable to multi-task
  • Rigorous, meticulous, and reliable

  • Analytical skills and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Good team spirit and ability to cooperate with different teams in different locations
  • Capacity to understand and manage risks

The BMO team supports GLBA management, Coverage Teams) and GLBA Business Lines in Asia Pacific by contributing to robust governance, ensuring global/regional/country processes and regulations are kept up to date and consistently applied, supporting business performance monitoring, and helping manage operational / regulatory / compliance risks.
