Trainee - Global Markets Business Manager office (BMO)
Responsibilities
1. BMO role
As a Global Markets Business Manager, you will:
Contribute to the development and transformation of Global Market with a specific focus on trading and Sales Fixed Income and Commodities (FIC) activities in the region by:
- Sponsoring or leading key Global Market FIC projects that have a strong impact on clients.
- Accompanying regulatory changes impacting our businesses
- Maintaining the alignment of Global Market objectives with those of support and control functions (Operations, Legal, Compliance)
Continuously improve the efficiency of the Global Market in Asia set-up by:
- Optimizing our client base and the services provided to them
- Identifying and delivering simplification initiatives in collaboration with our partners
- Streamlining and automating our processes through the development of new tools.
Ensure the Global Market businesses are properly run, controlled, and protected by:
- Securing the framework of our commercial franchise/ Identifying areas of operational risks and taking corrective actions to remediate them.
- Monitoring and supporting the FIC activity for Global Market Asia: Providing advisory and guidance on new transactions, new products, and new set-up, and ensuring compliance with rules and guidelines applicable to trading mainly.
2. FIC/SLS role
Role Summary:
The FIC corporates/FI sales role is responsible for marketing and distributing fixed income and currency products to corporates and FI clients in Korea. The individual will work closely with trading, research, and other internal partners to deliver suitable financial solutions and build durable client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Market Knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of market products, particularly FX, Rates, MM and investment/hedging solutions. Understand financial market dynamics and advise clients with relevant market commentary.
Sales & Client Management: Actively pitch SG’s capabilities to new and existing corporate /FI clients. Identify client needs and establish strong, long-term relationships by providing excellent service and solutions.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed of market trends, client needs, and competitor activities. Provide feedback to management, trading and structuring teams to enhance our platform and product offerings.
Teamwork & Cooperation: Collaborate closely with local and global team members, as well as other departments, to ensure business continuity and effective client coverage. Actively facilitate cross-selling by liaising with other sales teams and client referral channels.
Compliance & Regulations: Adhere strictly to the Sales Handbook and all internal policies. Understand local rule and regulations, ensuring all activities are compliant. This includes pre-trade checks (KYC, credit, suitability) and adherence to all documentation, margin policy, and information control requirements.
Dealing Procedure & Coordination: Coordinate effectively with support function. Ensure proper input of deals into systems, validate final terms, and maintain operational risk control with a goal of zero errors.
Reporting: Fulfill all necessary reporting requirements to various stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner, including transaction reporting and regular performance updates.
Profile required
· Proven track record in global markets-related roles
· Bachelor’s degree in business or finance-related fields or higher
· Fluency in written and spoken English. Fluency in written and spoken Korean would be an advantage
· Project management skills and experience
· Strong understanding of the global markets’ environment, in particular, knowledge of FIC products and OTC products. Experience in global markets trading tool will be a plus.
· Comprehensive knowledge of banking operation and governance
· Client-oriented

· Outstanding communication, and leadership skills

The Global Markets Business Manager office (MARK/BMO) aims at helping the Global Market team’s development and at the same time preventing operational risks.
A global team and a key partner for Global Market business lines and activities to enable Global Market teams to do what it does best – serve the needs of its clients in a secured way.
Combining process and business expertise, quality of execution, technology advisory, innovative solutions and operational risk prevention, MARK/BMO is a trusted advisor helping to ensure the highest service levels to clients.
MARK/BMO plays a pivotal role in coordinating with Support and Control functions in Finance, IT, Operations, Risks, Compliance and Legal.
A successful candidate will be expected to run day-to-day operations while also delivering on business-critical key projects, such as new business, regulations, or transformation.
The Business Management Office focuses on building, managing & optimizing all processes from pre-trade and post-trade. It ensures the best service is offered to Global Market clients by monitoring, reviewing and transforming existing processes. It also provides the Global Market management with relevant tools and indicators to ensure the efficiency of the commercial set-up.
