Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

The role of the Metric Monitoring Group (MMG) department is to strengthen expertise in the analysis of results and risks and increase proximity with trading activities. Major stakes include meeting regulatory challenges, accompanying the development of the business lines, and ensuring that the Capital Markets, Risk and Finance departments are able to carry out their respective roles within a carefully-controlled risk and cost management structure.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • Analyse UK Performance and risk factors related to trading activities
  • Participate in establishing new risk analysis methodologies and consider the impact of new regulations
  • Develop tools for automating, optimising and analysing various risk indicators
  • Continuously propose more powerful and innovative analysis tools
  • Handle ad hoc requests from management

Summary of responsibilities

  • Contribute input on Capital Markets UK performance and market risks
  • Production of KPIs for the local Risk and Capital Markets management teams
  • Working closely with management and regulators to understand the outcomes of reports and new requirements
  • Working with colleagues in the Audit, Compliance and Risk Operations departments to help with the building of new controls
  • Reporting on a timely basis, escalating issues to management as appropriate
  • Working alongside analytical teams in Paris and Bangalore

Profile required

Competencies 

  • Operational Skills - a good level of financial technical knowledge, including VBA and macro development skills
  • Analytical Skills  - ability to understand and recognise underlying issues and provide solutions
  • Communication Skills - ability to communicate well with other teams
  • Flexibility / Adaptability - ability to handle urgent and ad hoc requests
  • Ability to take initiative, work under pressure and integrate into a diverse team
