About the Role

As a Trainee in FIG M&A, you will gain unparalleled exposure to the financial institutions sector, covering multiple subsectors and geographies. You will be actively involved in the origination and execution of M&A transactions, working alongside experienced bankers in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the origination and execution of M&A deals across the FIG sector

  • Conduct detailed industry and company research, financial modelling, and valuation analysis

  • Prepare and pitch presentations to clients, investors, and the broader investment community

  • Comply with all relevant risk, regulatory, and internal policy obligations

  • Work within agreed risk limits and adhere to Société Générale’s Code of Conduct and behavioural standards

Profile required

What We Are Looking For

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in a finance-related discipline

  • Minimum 6 months’ practical work experience (internship or similar) in M&A, investment banking, or related fields

  • Exceptional financial modelling and analytical skills from day one

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent communication skills; articulate, corporate, and well-presented

  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and commitment

  • Team player with a collaborative approach

  • Strong preference for candidates with Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills
