About the Role

Are you looking to start a career in risk management within a leading financial services environment? This trainee opportunity offers hands‑on exposure to how organisations identify, manage and improve controls around operational and conduct risk—key areas in today’s regulated financial markets.

As a Trainee, you will support the London Operational Risk Management team within Global Markets, helping to ensure risks arising from people, processes, systems and behaviours are appropriately identified, monitored and addressed. This is an excellent opportunity to build practical skills, gain regulatory insight and develop a strong foundation for a career in risk, compliance or governance.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Support the day‑to‑day activities of the Operational Risk Management team

  • Help monitor and review the effectiveness of controls used across the business

  • Assist with risk assessments and the tracking of agreed actions and improvements

  • Analyse data to identify trends and support the production of clear risk reporting and dashboards

  • Contribute to the preparation of materials for management and governance meetings

  • Support projects to improve and document risk processes and procedures

  • Work with colleagues across different teams as a point of contact for operational and conduct risk queries

  • You’ll gain exposure to senior stakeholders, governance forums and a wide range of non‑financial risk topics in a supportive learning environment.
