Responsibilities

Project Management & Governance
• Support Project Management Office (PMO) activities, including consolidation of project status updates, CAPEX tracking and allocation, maintenance of project portfolios, and monitoring of action, risk, and issue logs.
• Assist in coordinating governance forums, project meetings, management reporting, and preparation of project materials.
Track project deliverables, identify potential roadblocks, and escalate outstanding issues where appropriate.

Business Analysis & Regulatory Change Management
• Gather and document business, operational, and regulatory requirements from a broad range of stakeholders, including Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Risk, Finance, Technology, and regulators.
• Participate in industry working groups and regulatory forums (e.g., ISDA, ASIFMA) to monitor industry developments and regulatory changes.
• Conduct regulatory gap analyses, impact assessments, and business process reviews to determine implementation requirements and associated impacts.
• Contribute to the design and enhancement of business processes, operating models, and technology solutions to support regulatory compliance.

Requirements, Testing & Implementation
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process flows, and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to review, validate, and obtain sign-off on proposed solutions.
• Support project implementation activities by tracking progress, managing dependencies, and coordinating issue resolution.
• Plan, execute, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparation of test cases, coordination of testing sessions, defect management, and results reporting.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement
• Develop, enhance, and maintain project documentation, knowledge repositories, and program artefacts.
• Ensure adherence to established PMO and Business Analysis methodologies, standards, and best practices across the Regulatory Transformation team.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance project governance, reporting, and delivery effectiveness.

Professional Development
• Build and maintain knowledge of financial markets, regulatory reporting requirements, and emerging regulatory initiatives.
• Develop an understanding of regulatory transformation programs, stakeholder management, and change implementation within a global banking environment.

Profile required

• Undergraduate or recent graduate in Business, Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced regulatory and project management environment.
• Interest in financial markets, regulatory compliance, and business transformation initiatives.

This is a fixed term 24-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.

Department Description:

Regulatory Project Team in SG Hong Kong is in charge of implementation of new regulatory requirements from OTC transformation program including Clearing, Margining, Reporting, Tax topics and Risk Mitigation. Working as part of the team, you will be working in close relation with APAC/Paris/London/New York teams for front-to-back transformation projects and responsible for contributing to impact analysis, requirement gathering, testing coordination and defect management; coordinating different application teams from distinct systems; liaising closely with business users, legal, compliance, risk, finance, operation, technology teams, industry bodies, exchanges and third party service providers; being part of a global governance.
