The Trainee role is a full-time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.

Responsibilities: 
Supporting the Dedicated Finance Officer (DFO) for Global Technology & Engineering (GTE) and Global Banking Technology & Operations, your missions as a Finance Partner include:

  • Monitor and control the departmental headcount and costs
  • Assist in the production and certification of the key financial metrics
  • Actively participate in the management control community during the key milestones of the year (e.g. Forecasting, Budgeting, Monthly reporting)
  • Preparation of monthly Forecasts, and consolidation of Budge for Asia region
  • Analyze and comment on the gaps between Actuals, Budget, Forecast.
  • Assist in quality control and certification of financial data (accounting booking, allocations, etc.)
  • Contribute to the computation and analysis of Standard Rates by sub-department and entity within Asia region
  • Participate to the analysis of the financial results for the business line and the senior management of the bank
  • Work proactively with offshore teams in India, and regional teams 
  • Support the team in monthly reporting (presentation pack preparation, enhancements, ad-hoc requests).
  • Participate in the automation and offshoring initiatives in cooperation with Head-Office, Project teams and India teams.
  • Lead a regular review of our process and procedures to cater new business requests, improve operational efficiency, optimize process and ensure risk controls and regulation compliance.  
  • Perform a first level risk control in owned process, proactively work with the other financial controllers and India teams.
     

Profile required

Profile Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Audit.
  • Previous experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial control or general accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in Power BI is a plus.
  • Good communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solution-focused, service-oriented and proactive
  • Team spirit and self-motivated
  • Ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and high demands
  • Fluent English is mandatory.

This is a fixed term 24-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full-time basis.
