The Trainee role is a full time 24-month contract with Societe Generale where you will have access to a diverse range of training materials to help you succeed, covering various aspects of businesses, including but not limited to technical skills, leadership development, communication skills, client service and relationship management. To be eligible, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of Trainee contract.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analyses on fair value adjustments across all asset class for Asia‑originated positions; the scope includes Independent Price Verification IPV process (consensus contributions, parameter calibration, independent repricing and source validation), market related reserves (bid–ask adjustments, spread calibration, uncertainty reserves on market parameters).
- Contribute to enhancement on valuation control processes, ensuring strict adherence to international standard and Group policies.
- Prepare materials for Valuation Committees, including analytics, dashboards, and defining follow‑ups actions.
- Contribute to process automation and standardization (Python/Power BI).
- Deliver ad‑hoc valuation analyses to Finance, Trading and Risk partners, and support responses to auditors/regulators as required.
Profile required
As a Valuation Group Trainee, you will:
- Hold a relevant Bachelors or master's degree in quantitative finance, mathematics or Engineering or similar
- Good understanding of global market activities, trading strategies and product features, derivatives pricing
- Programming skills (Python...), experience with business analytics / data visualization tools such as Power BI / Power Query
- Understanding of data science, Machine learning is a plus
- Pro-active, rigorous, autonomous, and a strong ability to work under pressure and priorities multiple deliverables
- Strong logical thinking, good written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent English is mandatory
Profile: Strong technical foundation in derivatives pricing and risk is essential.

Department Description
Based in Hong Kong, the role is part of APAC finance department, and functionally part of Finance Valuation Group.
The valuation Group is responsible for the design of methodologies in compliance with IFRS standards and the calculation of fair value adjustments for market activities; working closely with trading desks (equity, Fixed Income) and Risk partners.
