As part of the Origination and Financing team for private ABS transactions, the VP will contribute to the origination, structuring and execution of asset-backed transactions with SG clients. The mission of the securitization lending business is to be a strategic financing solution for SG clients which builds upon client relationships profitably and allows for the cross-sell of other SG products, primarily ABS underwriting roles and Interest Rate Derivatives. The team handles a broad spectrum of asset classes including: credit cards, consumer loans, solar loans, home improvement loans, C-PACE loans, insurance premium finance loans, equipment loans, among others.  Working on diverse asset types with an experienced and successful team makes the position a great learning opportunity.


  • Developing marketing materials and assisting in delivering pitches.
  • Performing quantitative/data and qualitative due diligence
  • Performing analysis and stress tests for transactions
  • Undertaking industry, client or asset specific research and assisting in special projects.
  • Complying with internal and regulatory processes (KYC, audits,…)
  • Preparing credit applications and other internal process documentation
  • Participating in legal documentation drafting and negotiation with more senior members of the team
  • Regular monitoring of existing transactions
  • The candidate is expected to develop autonomy and help train/mentor more junior members of the team.  
  • This role is for the private lending side of the ABS business, but the candidate will have exposure to the public ABS agency side of the business as well. 

Profile required

  • BA or BS degree required; concentration in Economics, Finance, Business, Math, or Computer Science is preferred but not required
  • 5-6+ years' experience in a bank or a rating agency including at least 3+ years in the securitization space
  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures and familiarity with credit and related legal documentation.
  • Has contributed to the origination and structuring of securitization transactions
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets, securitization and structured products
  • Expertise in one or several asset classes among credit cards, consumer loans, insurance premium finance loans, equipment loans
  • Familiarity with esoteric asset classes as residential solar loans, home improvement loans, C-PACE, … would be a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Sense of initiative, creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with high technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and work across the firm to ensure product is delivered to client
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to more junior members of the team and help maintain high quality standards for all deliverables.

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
