Responsibilities

The VP - Structured Credit Syndicator in Australia will be more specifically responsible for:

  • Pricing, structuring and underwriting non-flow (PF / asset finance) and flow (corporate / leveraged) loan products, originated in Australia/New Zealand. The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with the Origination business lines throughout the origination process on those aspects, including in client-facing activities (incl. pitching / marketing);
  • Working hand-in-hand with the APAC credit sales team, including in an investor-facing capability and through ongoing training of the APAC credit sales team, to initiate and push non-flow / flow credit products sales to investors, as part of primary and extended primary syndication processes;
  • Providing other support as necessary in connection with non-flow credit / flow loan distribution, such as providing distribution input (including reverse enquiries) for our portfolio management team during secondary / portfolio sales.

Profile required

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, preferably in a Loan Syndicate role
  • Proven capability of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, business lines as well as bank and non-bank investors (including keeping up to date on their loan investment criteria)
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Australia / New Zealand loan syndication markets, underlying players / investors, with a specific focus on the following asset classes: project and asset finance (energy, power including renewables, infrastructure including digital infrastructure, real estate, metals and mining), fund financing, corporate and leveraged loans
  • Proven analytical skills as well as exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Powerpoint and Excel

Department Description

The Distribution and Credit Solutions team is a joint venture between the Global Banking and Advisory and the Global Markets divisions. This joint venture combines the bank’s capabilities in the credit space integrated in Credit Chains working closely with Origination and Credit Portfolio Management to derisk the bank in primary (Syndication) and secondary (Trading) and pursue Fund Financing and Securitization activities for clients of the bank (corporates, financial institutions, fund managers) leveraging a unified Credit Sales team. As part of DCS, the Structured Credit Syndicate APAC team is in charge of the pricing, structuring and underwriting of flow and non-flow loan products originated in APAC, and is also acting as the entry point for all loan products originated by GLBA globally and distributed into Asia Pacific. Reporting to the Head of Structured Credit Syndicate based in HK, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role, in close cooperation with our Sydney based Director – Structured Credit Syndicator, to expand the loan syndication business in Australia and New Zealand, across both the flow and non-flow loan asset classes.
