Responsibilities

Within the Global Markets Division (MARK) of Societe Generale, you will join as a VIE in the Delta One team within the Equity Derivatives department (EQD). The desk is a world leader in pricing and structuring products on equity indices. You will be based in Madrid and work with the local traders and you will interact with the rest of the trading team and all the support functions based in Paris.

Responsibilities:

  • The functions of the VIE will be those of a trading and research analyst. Among other tasks, you will help on the development of our trading follow up tool (Python), including the implementation of alerts and signals.

  • You will make some more fundamental research and back-testing. 
  • You will participate to the automation of the the desk in general.
  • The position offers the opportunity of a first-hand experience of the job of an index trader and to collaborate with different teams within the bank.
  • A high interest in coding is requested.


    A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.  

Please note that it is mandatory to provide us a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document. *Grade sheets are not accepted as justification of diploma.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance or Data Science
  • A previous experience in coding would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English
  • Basic level in Spanish is a plus, but not necessary

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Advanced in Python, Streamlite experience is a plus

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Madrid is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
