Responsibilities

Société Générale is one of the leading European financial services groups. Active in the real economy for over 150 years, Société Générale employs over 138,000 members of staff in 62 countries and supports daily 29 million clients. The aim of Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBSU differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.

As part of their day-to-day activities, the BI Center team is responsible for the development of various BI projects (data transformation, preparation and visualization), but must also provide production support on the BI platforms maintained by the team (Power BI Services and Report Server, Tableau, MicroStrategy). The BI Center works closely with the teams in all the regions where our partners are located (America, Europe, Africa, Asia).

The future V.I.E. may also be asked to analyze existing controls and tasks within this scope in order to automate and/or optimize them. In addition to this, monitoring reports will need to be designed and implemented, allowing automated statuses to be provided to the Executive Committee. Therefore, the V.I.E. will evolve existing tools and/or create new tools for the implementation of these performance indicators and controls. Finally, he/she will have the opportunity to evolve within a BI competence center, so it will be able to discover the data professions.

With the support of the SG MSC teams, the V.I.E. BI Analyst/Developer will be in charge of:

• Collect needs and specify the functionalities to be implemented with users from any departments (Finance, IT, ...)

• Design the required data models and processes following internal BI standards

• Implement, test and deliver functionalities according to our standards/best practices

• Maintain our BI platforms (administration, updating, monitoring and performance)

• Participate in community activities (coordination, training, presentation, technology/market watch, etc.)
