Responsibilities

The candidate will join Global Market division. SGCIB MARK Asia department offers to regional and worldwide customers a panel of derivatives solutions on a broad range of products, encompassing stocks, indices, warrants, ETF, plain vanilla and exotic options, execution services on almost all Asian markets. We mainly serve institutional (Hedge Funds, Asset Manager, Banks…) but also retail investors and provide hedging solutions and risk management strategies. Capitalizing on our true global platform, SG CIB provides round-the-clock extensive pricing capabilities on derivatives, denominated in all major currencies.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will work within the EQD Asia (Equities & Derivatives) desk in Hong Kong and be dedicated to the Business Management Office team.
    The candidate will work on the following tasks:
  • Assist Business Management Office (BMO) and Management on the follow up of the activity (PnL, Costs, Headcounts)
  • Project Management – Lead and/or support projects within the business line
  • Provide operational support to day-to-day Business (Sales and Traders plus interaction with Support)
  • Control operational risks (perform, monitor and develop controls)
  • Help Heads of Trading Desks on Management presentations (requires a good understanding of financial products and operational efficiency)
  • Develop tools (python, VBA) to automate processes as well as using data analyst tools (Power BI, Tableau) for activity monitoring or specific studies


A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.

Please note that for the missions outside the European countries, a VISA is necessary. Please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure. Otherwise, we strongly advise you to launch asap the renewal of your passport.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance/Financial Engineering
  • A previous experience in Investment Banking environment would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English

Technical, operational & soft skills:

  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office in particular Excel, good coding skils in VBA and Python
  • Good communication and presentation skills

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Hong Kong is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
