Responsibilities

SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group, present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. SG CIB provides corporates, financial institutions, family offfiices and public sector clients with the most relevant and effective solutions.

Within SG CIB, Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) combines a recognized wholesale coverage platform with world-class product, financing and advisory expertise. GLBA ensures that clients receive coordinated and consistent support across all their strategic and financial needs.

Client Coverage lies at the heart of this setup. Coverage teams build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, identify their needs, and coordinate with internal experts to provide the most relevant solutions. Senior bankers and relationship managers act as key points of contact, ensuring a deep understanding of each client’s strategic priorities and financial challenges.

The main mission is to support the Coverage Bankers responsible for Belgian clients (Large Corporates and MNCs from all industries, Sovereign entities, Financials Sponsors & Family offices).

As a Front Office Coverage Support, your responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with bankers and business lines (eg, Global Markets, Global Banking & Advisory business lines and Global Transaction Banking) to market SG's products and services to clients. This includes preparing pitches, proposal responses, and drafting internal client memos for Senior Management
  • Structuring and implementing credit facilities; preparing profitability calculations; and coordinating with the Credit team, Middle Office and Back Office to manage credit facilities request
  • Managing the profitability KPIs of the client portfolios (review, control, forecasts, reporting) and maintaining client relation tools
  • Conducting local market analysis to identify industry trends and business opportunities
  • Performing strategic forecasts (e.g. annual budgets and revised annual NBI landing) and profitability analysis, as well as reviewing NBI reports for country P&L, country RWA reporting, and managing country credentials sheets
     

A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.  

Please note that it is mandatory to provide us a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document. *Grade sheets are not accepted as justification of diploma.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in economics / finance

  • At least one previous experience (internship, short term contract) in Banking/Finance

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English & French

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Good command of MS Office
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial information
  • Strong research skills and synthesis skills


The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Brussels is to begin June 1st, 2026, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
