V.I.E. Coverage Support Analyst
Responsibilities
The Financial Institutions Group (“FIG”) within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (“SGCIB”) is responsible for managing the Bank’s global commercial relationships with our institutional client base. The role is based in New York on FIG’s U.S. Insurance Coverage Team.
Bankers in FIG Coverage are responsible for the development and management of the relationships with SGCIB’s clients; in addition to leading a collaborative effort across SGCIB’s business lines throughout transaction origination, negotiation, and execution.
SGCIB’s business lines have a diverse offering for the needs of our institutional clients, across Mergers & Acquisitions; Capital Markets; Capital Efficiency & Yield Enhancement; Flexible Financing & Liquidity Solutions; Market-based Solutions & Hedging, in many different contexts and formats.
Job Summary:
- As a member of the U.S. Insurance Coverage Team, you will work directly with junior bankers and be expected to operate at the level of a first-year analyst.
- The candidate will assist across a multitude of projects, including strategy; client and portfolio analysis; sector research; and transversal initiatives.
- In addition, the candidate will be expected to contribute to the creation of client discussion materials and assist with transactional-related deliverables, due diligence, and processes.
- A successful candidate will have strong technical and interpersonal skills, to support the team from an analytical and marketing perspective, and will be extremely organized and reliable.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Support junior bankers in the completion of internal and external deliverables.
- Conduct meaningful research and analytical projects to assist the commercial effort.
- Manage administrative items related to client coverage.

Kindly note that it is also mandatory to provide us with a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document.

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance/Accounting preferred
- A previous experience in financial services, specifically investment banking or insurance, is preferred but not required
Language skills:
Fluent in English (B2-C1)
Operational, technical & soft skills:
Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and oral communication skills
Fundamental understanding of accounting and financial principles
First class marketing skills
Excellent analytical skills
Organizational skills
Capability to prioritize tasks and manage conflicting deadlines
Ability to work in a high stress environment
The position requires a self-confident person who is a self-starter; quick-learner; highly motivated and reliable; well organized; with strong team spirit and excellent attention to detail

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
