Responsibilities

At Societe Generale, you will be joining the Global Finance entity of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. We provide our issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) with capital raising solutions, along with structured financing and commodities, forex and interest rate hedging. Developing tailor-made products and providing strategic advice (capital structure advisory, financing schemes and capital markets) based on our worldwide expertise and in-depth sectorial knowledge, we aim to meet their financing needs. We are a top player across euro debt capital markets and won many international accolades over the years as a worldwide leader in export, project and natural resources & energy finance..  

The purpose of the role is to provide business management support primarily related to ESG topics to GLBA AME teams.  The candidate will be working in a team dedicated to Regulatory and ESG supervision.  This role includes, but is not limited to the following ESG related topics:

  • Participate in the creation and monitoring of ESG reporting for GLBA AME
  • Analyze regulatory texts, draft policies and procedures on ESG for GLBA business lines in Americas 
  • Provide training and support on ESG topics for GLBA AME 
  • Participate in ESG strategic projects and draft presentations to GLBA AME management and front office 
  • Participate in Audits, Internal Compliance and Regulatory reviews 
  • Other ad hoc projects and reportings under the Regulatory framework

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University

  • A previous experience in investment banking, business management, ESG monitoring would be appreciated 

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office Applications (especially in Excel and Powerpoint) 
  • Curiosity and drive to learn and provide suggestions 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written), including the ability to speak with senior individuals at the Bank

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
