V.I.E. Enterprise Risk Management Officer
Responsibilities
The Risk Management Department contributes to the sustainable growth of the Société Générale Group through its expertise, understanding of risks, and risk management techniques. The department’s mission is to independently analyze, assess, manage and monitor risk-taking activities with the objective of achieving, together with the first line-of-defense, the best possible outcome for the bank. The department oversees the enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks of the corporate and investment banking business activities.
The Enterprise Risk Management function is responsible for identifying, measuring, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on all risks facing SG AMER. Enterprise risk management is a pro-active, continuous approach to risk management that provides SG AMER with a comprehensive, integrated view of its risks and enables management of risks across its operations consistently and in line with its business and strategic objectives.
The V.I.E. Enterprise Management Risk Officer contributes to support the Risk Appetite and Assessment team across multiple activities: Risk Appetite and Reporting at Risk Committees, Risk Identification and Assessment, Enterprise Stress Testing Framework and Business and Strategic Risk Management. The future candidate will be involved in the:
- support for developing, maintaining, and monitoring Enterprise-Risk Management dashboards
- producution of aggregate risk analysis reporting, reviewing key risk metrics, breaches, and in-depth analysis of any material events potentially impacting the firm
- support the update to the SGUS Risk Appetite
- preparation of several Enterprise-Risk Committees, attended by Senior Management
The Enterprise Risk Management Officer also participates in the automation, data and analytics used by Enterprise Risk Management. This is mostly achieved through participation (on the user side) to the development and implementation of SGUS Governance – Risks – Compliance (GRC) system. More detailed key responsibilities are laid out below:
1.Risk Appetite Statement (“RAS”)
- Provides assistance in ongoing maintenance of the Risk Appetite Statement including renewals (effective challenge, maintenance of metrics/limits, review & alignment to BL’s strategy, etc.)
- Partners across the bank to strengthen the overall risk assessment and monitoring processes
- Maintains a control framework for the RAS metrics
2. Coordinate all aspects related to enterprise-level Risk Committees across SG Americas
- Works with the Risk team in assessing and supervising risk functions in the Americas including effective challenge across a wide range of risk types.
- Liaises with risk stripes and business lines for timely and accurate contributions.
- Updates or document Enterprise Risk guidelines and procedures.
- Interacts with the business lines to prepare the different committees and follow-up conditions determined by the risk functions.
3.ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) automation, data and analytics
- Participates to the conception and roll out of the enterprise-wide risk data architecture within the GRC framework
- Contributes to optimize team processes
- Elaborates user requirements, interactions with business analysts and developers
- Conducts User Acceptance Test (UAT) for elements of the GRC framework
- Implements and rolls out of user data and analytics solutions and reporting

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply for a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
• Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance
• A previous experience in the Risk Management, Financial Control Systems or Operations in a Capital Markets context would be appreciated
Language skills:
• Fluent in English (B2-C1)
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office
• Proficient/Good command of Power BI and SQL Database
• Good communication and presentation skills
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Canada is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
