V.I.E. Financial Crime Unit
Responsibilities
Within Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking you will join as a VIE the Financial Crime Unit Department in Frankfurt.
The local Financial Crime team supports all business units in the Frankfurt branch (> 400 employees) regarding Financial Crime risks, such as AML/CTF, Sanctions & Embargo and Anti Bribery & Corruption.
Business units covered are as follows: Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA), Global Markets (MARK), Global Transactions & Payment Services (GTPS) and Securities Services (SGSS).
As a VIE your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working on KYC onboardings and reviews
- Handle AML and Sanctions related alerts
- Perform controls
- Management reporting
- Assist in projects
You will mainly work with the FCU team, which consists as of today of 6 team members and with contacts in the Head Office or project teams as required.
A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.
Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply for a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
- Master’s degree from Business School or University, ideally with a specialization in Finance
- Ideally previous experience in compliance (e.g. KYC, Sanctions & Embargo, Anti Money Laundering) or internal control
Language skills:
- Fluent in English, German language skills are of advantage
Technical, operational & soft skills:
- Strong writing and research skills as well as attention to detail
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills
- MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint proficiency
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Germany is to begin October 1st, 2025, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a VISA is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
