Responsibilities
Société Générale Securities Services (SGSS) is part of Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS), a key pillar of Société Générale’s universal banking model.
Société Générale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special investment vehicles.
Within SGSS Ireland, you will join the Information Technologies Department (TTD), charged with providing Information System support to other departments within the organisation.
As a support function, Information Technology (TTD) provides Systems Administration and IT Development.
The VIE will gain practical experience in application support & development, working primarily with Visual Studio (C#, VB.Net, WPF and SQL Server/PostgreSQL.)
The VIE will work closely with the IT team, in particular the IT developers gaining valuable programming experience. They will improve their communication skills through interaction with users. They will have the opportunity to work independently on development projects as well as team developments.
The VIE will receive formal/informal training in the following:
- application development
- visual studio
- databases
- change management
- source control
- UAT testing
A questionnaire will be provided to you in order to check your VIE (Société Générale and Business France) eligibility. For an efficient analysis of your application, please make sure to truthfully answer all the questions.
Kindly note that it is also mandatory to provide us with a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document.

Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:
Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Information Technology or other related fields, or relevant experience
Language skills:
Fluent in English
Technical, operational & soft skills:
Good working knowledge of Visual Studio and WPF, C#, VB, SQL Server/PostgreSQL
Desire to learn new skills with a continuous improvement attitude
Self-motivated, with a structured and determined approach to work, and a willingness to take ownership of problems and an ability to communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels
Proficient/Good command of MS Office
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Dublin is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
