Responsibilities

The US Mergers & Acquisitions, or "M&A", team sits within the investment banking division of SG Americas Securities LLC as part of the sector-agnostic Client Advisory Team, or "CAT". The team is based in New York. M&A works with industry coverage and other investment banking product partners to provide advisory services to clients and prospective clients around such topics as valuation, acquisition targeting, divestitures and spin-offs, activist situations, and general corporate strategy. Cross-border situations are a focus for the US M&A team, which works closely with other SG offices in Paris, Madrid, London, Frankfurt, Milan, and other locations globally.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Assist with preparation of client materials for live transactions and for pitch meetings
• Assist with due diligence and research around market situations
• Assist with development of financial valuation analyses including discounted cash flows, leveraged buyouts, analyses at various prices, pro forma leverage and liquidity analyses, joint-venture structuring, IRR / MOIC / NPV analyses, pro forma tax step-up analyses, 3-statement operating models, and other ad hoc analyses
• Assist with completion of internal committee materials and procedures
• Liaise with other internal SG teams and senior bankers

Kindly note that it is also mandatory to provide us with a formal proof of your M2 diploma validation before the assignment start date. No VIE mission will start without this document.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance, Economics or Business
  • A previous experience in M&A or corporate finance would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English

Operational, technical & soft skills:

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office

  • Excellent attention to detail

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
