Responsibilities

The VIE Middle Office Officer / Spoke OST and Tax is in charge of OST and Tax requests for a limited number of SG Luxembourg customers with positions in the BANCS Luxembourg system.
He/she will work with the team on continuous improvement actions initiated to improve customer satisfaction. You will interact with our centers of expertise in Nantes. With a view to continuous improvement, the VIE will contribute to the automation of our processes in line with our strategy of digitalization and control of our operational risks. 
The VIE Middle Office Officer / Spoke OST and Tax will contribute to developing the attractiveness of the CSI team in Luxembourg across the value chain.

Desk-Spoke activity management Securities transactions:

  • Handles actions required by spoke Lux as part of decisional OST instructions
  • Takes charge of securities and cash suspense and, if necessary, adjusts via ISI/Cash Insight;
  • Participates in the processing of Coupon Claims, taking charge of analysis and related payment instructions;
  • Handles and follows up customer requests for OST/Income via MyCases;
  • Supports Spoke Luxembourg processing for proxy-voting activity;
  • Takes part in customer meetings, taking charge of the log;
  • Takes part in meetings between the various teams in the value chain;
  • Applies the department's internal procedures according to the position held.

TAX Activities:

  • Assists clients with tax exemption and recovery procedures;
  • Monitors and processes tax documentation;
  • Participates in various tasks within the framework of QI US and Ireland and TRACE Finland;
  • Conducts research in accounting tools/information systems on OST/Income tax issues;
  • Ensures high-quality follow-up of tax recovery and exemption files;
  • Participates in meetings between the various teams in the value chain;
  • Participates in client meetings, taking charge of the log;
  • If necessary, performs adjustments or tax refund accounting on client accounts in Luxembourg;

Reporting and customer follow-up:

  • Reports to direct superiors on work carried out and highlights any difficulties or problems;
  • Ensures effective follow-up of customer requests and complaints;
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by listening, anticipating requests and delivering quality service;
  • Escalates any customer request requiring management intervention.

Continuous improvement:

  • Participates actively and constructively in MM and team meetings;
  • Actively participates in various continuous improvement projects and workshops;
  • Shares information within the team and with management where necessary;
  • Contributes to the deployment of digitalization initiatives (deployment of powerBI, automation, etc.).

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master’s degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance, Accounting

  • A previous experience in finance/accounting would be appreciated

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English (B2-C1)

  • Fluent in French (B2-C1)

Technical, operational & soft skills:

  • Overall knowledge of back-office activities, particularly securities operations;

  • Knowledge of current standards and regulations;
  • Financial and accounting knowledge;

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Luxemburg is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
