Responsibilities

Within Societe Generale Luxembourg, you will reach the private bank's trading room. The department handles all Societe Generale Private Banking market operations for all types of customers. Societe Generale is one of the world leaders in the derivatives and structured markets of Rates/Exchange and Equities, and supports its clients with cross-asset product solutions.

You will join a dynamic and versatile team as close as possible to the negotiators. You will support them in the development of their activities while contributing to the control of their risks.

Your missions will consist of :

  • Participate actively in the process of entering into contact with new customers and/or counterparties
  • Take charge of the different requests addressed to the team by the market negotiators
  • Contribute to the analysis and redesign of the procedures and processes of the Market Room
  • Participate in the various cross-cutting projects affecting the trading floor 
  • Administrative follow-up of the Marketplace Counterparties

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with an interest in news and financial products
  • Ideally a first experience in the market room, or in asset management

Language skills:

  • Fluent French, Advanced English

Technical, operational & soft skills:

  • You have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills, with a client-centered approach
  • Mastery of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in programming languages (VBA, Python) and Bloomberg would be a plus


The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Luxembourg is to begin on September 1st but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
