V.I.E. Portfolio Risk Officer
Responsibilities
The RISQ division's mission is to contribute to the development of the SG Group's activity by facilitating the objectives of the Business Lines while maintaining independent oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. The RISQ division in the US supports all the activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada and Latin America), which is almost exclusively with the Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) activities.
In the Americas, the Credit Risk division of the Risk Department oversees all credit risk-taking in SGUS' lending and trading activities; including approving requests for exposure submitted by the business lines; providing an objective and independent view of exposures to watch list or default-rated Obligors and the optimum strategies to be pursued in their management, and analyzing the quality of the portfolio.
Within the Credit Risk Portfolio Management & Governance (CRE/PMG) team of the Americas Credit Risk department, the responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Continuous enhancement of SGUS Credit Risk processes and systems using coding language and latest available technologies to:
- streamline and optimize processes efficiency
- actively contribute to the digital transformation of Credit Risk processes and monitoring
- build risk dashboards and reports to improve risk monitoring or better emphasize tracking of Key Risk and Performance Indicators
- Working closely with the Credit Analysis Group and the Asset Restructuring & Recovery Management teams to:
- develop a good understanding on credit risk metrics
- develop a good understanding of their processes and practices
- perform governance related tasks with the teams
- assist the teams in different tasks requiring transversal coordination
- challenge established processes, and optimize production processes
- Produce daily, weekly monthly and quarterly controls and reports to ensure effectiveness and compliance of SGUS Credit Risk processes including but not limited to Legal Lending Limit controls, Large Regulatory Exposures, Credit Triggers back testing, etc
- Contribute to the coordination of committees and meetings involving different teams from Front-Office, Middle-Office, and Risk departments
- Assist in addressing any Internal/External Audit and Regulatory requests, and participate in the different remediation actions
- Contribute actively to key Credit Risk, Transversal and Regulatory projects requiring:
- transversal coordination and liaison between different stakeholders in the US but also in Europe and in Asia
- good technology and system understanding to liaise efficiently with key Stakeholders including the Information System department

Studies & experience:
Graduate with a Master's degree from a Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Data Science
- A previous experience in Credit Risk management would be appreciated, and in Project Management and/or in project requiring data science analytical skills would be a plus
Language skills:
- Solid English verbal and written communication skills
Operational, technical & soft skills:
Programming skills (under Python with restitution using PowerBi technologies)
- Knowledge of relational databases and experience with SQL queries
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical mindset
- Self-motivated and a proactive attitude with strong desire to learn
- Reactive, detail-oriented, driven to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic and deadline-foduced work environment
- Proficient/Good command of MS Office
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
