Responsibilities

·         Assist the Head of Trade Services in GTB (International Trade) in the commercial development of the desk: creation of offers, follow up with clients/prospects via telephone/email, preparation of visits, commercial presentations.

·         Assist the Head of Trade Services in the daily commercial management: liaise with the Middle Office in Brussels and the Back Office in Paris, make pricing simulations based upon the information provided by the Head of Trade Services.

·         Assist the Head of Trade Services on the Risk and Compliance aspects which are linked to the trade activity in the bank: prepare KYC for the onboarding of new Trade clients or new correspondent banks and also take care of regular review of these.

·         Assist the Head of Trade Services in preparing credit requests/reviews.

·         Preparation and follow up of the reporting of trade activities; analyse the evolution of the trade portfolio.

·         Participate at client meetings and events.

·         Participate in the permanent supervision activities of the trade services desk

Act as back up of the Head of Trade Services when she is absent

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Economics or Finance
  • A previous experience in Banking, Trade Services   would be appreciated

Language skills:

  English

  French

  Other foreign language skills like Dutch would be an asset

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  Pro-active team player

  Time management, organizational and planning skills with proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills for pitching, other languages could be useful for this position.

  Ability to work with multiple stakeholders

  Comfortable and confident to speak / present to clients and also SG senior management

  Highly proficient with Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and superior analytical and quantitative skills

  Experience in Trade Services

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Brussels is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
