Responsibilities

The position will be within our Sustainability and Impact Advisory department and will report to the Head of Sustainable Finance, Asia Pacific. It will be based in Sydney and will have as main mandate to support the origination and structuring of sustainable financing products, leveraging on our Impact Structuring expertise. In addition, the role will actively contribute to the ESG client‑engagement strategy supporting our clients with structuring and advisory to accelerate the development of innovative solutions and new business models that deliver positive impact.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare marketing materials to support the origination of sustainable finance opportunities and position SG as a key partner to our clients to accompany them in their sustainability journey
  • Record-keeping and database maintenance, meeting preparation, note taking and distribution
  • Coordination with other teams and stakeholder
  • Support the structuring of Sustainable Finance transactions to APAC clients in cooperation with other business lines and coverage teams
  • Conduct evaluation of the Environmental and Social profile of clients and support other business lines on the identification of key ESG risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to capacity building and spreading knowledge on Sustainability and Impact Advisory offering among teams in different locations (notably through training)
  • Monitor ongoing developments of the ESG regulatory landscape globally and APAC more particularly
  • Monitor market / technological developments in relevant sectors and countries with the assistance of business lines and business units

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance, Economics, Business or similar
  • Previous experience or interest in a sustainability related field would be appreciated
     

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English, another major Asian language would be a plus

Technical, operational & soft skills:

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Able to cooperate with different teams notably remotely
  • Able to prioritise and operate under tight deadlines

     

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Sydney is to begin August 1st, 2026, but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
