Responsibilities

Expectation of this role is to develop and grow Global Transaction Banking (Trade Services, Supply Chain Finance, Payments & Cash Management) revenues from international corporate clients covering Multinational Corporates (MNC), Chinese Large Corporates (LC)and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) which is in line with overall strategy of the bank.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting transaction banking sales activities for a diverse portfolio comprising MNCs, local corporations, and NBFIs in Hong Kong and globally. Develop inbound transaction banking business in Hong Kong for this portfolio, while serving as global sales manager for selected clients to identify outbound sales opportunities across the bank’s international footprint.

  • Driving business development by establishing a stable and operational deposit base at competitive costs; securing cash management mandates with operational flows; offering short-term working capital facilities in conjunction with GTB business acquisition; and providing both funded and non-funded trade finance solutions.

  • Consistently achieving financial targets set by management on an annual basis.
  • Expanding the customer base through acquiring new-to-bank clients and deepening wallet share within the existing portfolio.
  • Assuming end-to-end responsibility for overall transaction banking relationships with portfolio clients, including identifying new sales opportunities (onshore and offshore), managing pipelines, developing global account plans, overseeing client service and implementation, among others.
  • Developing strong relationships with client contacts at various levels of seniority and delivering consultancy and market intelligence for both domestic and international transaction banking needs.
  • Being accountable for financial and non-financial KPIs, client relationship management, customer satisfaction, and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively driving business development with good sales discipline, independently managing a sales portfolio, and demonstrating adaptability to evolving business environments.

  • Leveraging credit expertise and relevant experience to provide funded financing solutions, with meticulous attention to legal documentation and processes.

  • Executing Global Transaction Banking strategies and translating them into actionable initiatives to achieve set objectives.

  • Promoting cross-border synergies with other regions to enhance revenues from GTB business worldwide.

Profile required

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE

  • Strong and proven sales experience, preferably in transaction banking and trade finance field
  • Expertise on business
    • Professional experience in trade finance and cash management business in Hong Kong

    • Direct sales relationships with clients

    • Deep knowledge on products / market conditions / competition in Hong Kong

    •  Regional/ local contacts of Chinese Corporates, International MNCs and NBFI

    • Awareness and management of risk factors, including credit risk, operational risk, regulatory and legal risks, and compliance risk.

    • Credit knowledge and relevant experience to provide funded financing solutions, with meticulous attention to legal documentation and processes.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)

Global Transaction Banking is the business unit which is responsible for global transaction banking businesses, including cash management which relates to account services, liquidity management, FX,  digital channel and working capital financing; Trade Finance business which relates to structured trade, financing, export and import, payable and receivable finance; Correspondent Banking which relates to inter-institution clearing, inter-bank financing products.
